AWI Academy started with conversations
Conversations with athletes about uncertainty, responsibility and systematic challenges. From those conversations, a grassrooted education program began to take shape.
What started as a passion project is today a community-based organization working side by side with athletes to build long-term financial stability.
Our vision is to make AWI Academy accessible to all athletes across Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia.
Cohort 3, December 2025
AWI Academy is a community-based organization (CBO) located in Ngong Town, Kenya.
We deliver practical education in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, contract literacy and digital skills to athletes - supporting long-term financial stability beyond sport.
Since our launch Februari 2025, we have delivered four education cohorts, reaching a total of 50+ athletes across Ngong and surrounding training communities.
In 2027, we plan to expand our program delivery to additional counties in Kenya.
From 2029, our long-term vision includes regional expansion to Ethiopia and Uganda, in collaboration with local partners.
AWI Academy is built locally, delivered on the ground and developed in close collaboration with the athlete community we serve.
